Job Summary:

As a Retail Sales Associate at Dollar General, you will be the friendly face customers see when they walk into the store. Your role is to assist customers with locating products, operating the cash register, stocking shelves, and maintaining a clean, organized store environment. Your efforts directly contribute to providing excellent customer service and maximizing store profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding merchandise.

• Operate the cash register efficiently—scan items, handle payments, and give correct change.

• Unpack, stock, and rotate merchandise on shelves to ensure availability and freshness.

• Build attractive merchandise displays and follow company merchandising standards.

• Maintain cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, cleaning restrooms, and taking out trash.

• Assist in setting up outdoor or sidewalk displays as needed.

• Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times.

• Support the store manager with other assigned tasks to keep the store running smoothly.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandising guidelines.

• Ability to lift merchandise up to 40 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 55 pounds.

• Comfortable with frequent standing, walking, bending, and occasional climbing (up to 6 feet).

• A positive attitude and willingness to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Working Conditions:

• Fast-paced retail store environment with moderate noise levels.

• Frequent physical activity including standing, walking, lifting, and stocking.

• Exposure to indoor and outdoor weather conditions.
