Job Summary

As a Lead Sales Associate, you play a key role in supporting daily store operations by assisting with cashier and stocking duties, while stepping in as a leader when the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager is absent. Your focus is on delivering excellent customer service, maintaining store presentation, and helping to maximize store profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a cashier and operate the cash register efficiently, ensuring accurate transactions and excellent customer service.

  • Assist with unloading trucks and receiving merchandise according to company procedures.

  • Stock shelves, rotate and face merchandise, and build attractive product displays to maintain a well-organized store.

  • Assist in implementing and maintaining plan-o-grams to optimize product placement and presentation.

  • Handle customer inquiries and assist shoppers in locating merchandise promptly and courteously.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store including front-end, sales floor, stockroom, and restrooms.

  • Bail cardboard, take out trash, and perform other cleaning duties to uphold safety and sanitation standards.

  • In the absence of store management, take on leadership responsibilities such as:

    • Authorizing refunds and overrides within company guidelines.

    • Counting registers, making bank deposits, and ensuring cash accountability.

    • Monitoring cash levels and supervising cash handling procedures.

    • Ensuring security measures, including key control and camera monitoring (if applicable).

  • Complete required paperwork and documentation accurately and timely.

  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and standards to protect assets and reduce losses.

Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Previous retail or supervisory experience preferred but not required.

  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentage calculations.

  • Familiarity with cash handling and register operations.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with customers and team members effectively.

  • Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram instructions and merchandise presentation guidelines.

  • Reliable, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment.

  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service and maintaining a safe and clean store environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift merchandise regularly (up to 65 lbs).

  • Comfortable working in varying temperatures and on your feet for extended periods.
