Position Summary:

The Dollar General Corporation is in search of a reliable and customer-oriented Inventory Clerk to aid in the smooth running of retail activities at a nearby store. The primary duty of this role is to provide exceptional customer care, uphold the store's visual appeal, and facilitate the efficient handling of goods. Alongside aiding customers, the Inventory Clerk will oversee inventory, implement merchandising strategies, and contribute to maintaining the store's cleanliness and orderliness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main contact person for clients, welcoming them with warmth, addressing their questions, and aiding them in finding products.
  • Accept and offload shipments, diligently examining merchandise for correctness and condition prior to storing goods in inventory or displaying them for sale.
  • Arrange products on shelves following the company's plan-o-grams, regularly switch items to uphold their quality, and uphold a neat and attractive sales area.
  • Develop and uphold visually appealing product showcases and promotional arrangements to improve the shopping atmosphere and boost revenue.
  • Perform cashier duties by managing cash registers and point-of-sale systems to complete customer transactions correctly, which involves accepting various payment forms like cash, credit cards, and others.
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks to uphold the tidiness of the establishment, such as sweeping, mopping surfaces, sanitation of restrooms, arranging inventory, and disposing of waste materials like trash and recyclables.
  • Help with inventory control duties like conducting stock audits, identifying differences, and purchasing goods using handheld scanning devices or other tools provided by the company.
  • Follow company guidelines, safety protocols, and theft prevention measures to safeguard business resources and maintain a secure retail setting for both patrons and staff.

Qualifications:

  • Having a high school diploma or an equivalent certification is desired.
  • Possessing excellent interpersonal abilities and effective communication talents, dedicated to providing exceptional customer service.
  • Fundamental math abilities for managing money and operating a cash register.
  • Proficiency in comprehending and adhering to merchandising guidelines, plan-o-grams, and store protocols.
  • Dependable and timely, capable of operating efficiently either on one's own or within a group setting within a dynamic retail setting.
  • Physical capacity to complete tasks that involve lifting, standing for long durations, and handling goods.

This position involves working in a retail environment where there is regular engagement with customers and colleagues. The Store Clerk is responsible for carrying out tasks that require physical activity, such as restocking shelves and upkeeping the store's tidiness.
