Job Details

Functioning as a primary contact for customers, the Sales Clerk aids customers in locating and purchasing items, running the cash register, restocking merchandise, maintaining store cleanliness, and executing additional tasks as directed by the Store Manager to boost store profitability and ensure customer satisfaction while safeguarding company assets.

Duties and Essential Job Functions

• Deliver exemplary customer service by warmly greeting and supporting customers.
• Engage with the cash register and scanner to enumerate bought products, process payments, hand out precise change, and bag goods for customers.
• Support clients with merchandise as and when necessary.
• Sort, store, refill, and adjust goods on display shelves in compliance with company policies.
• Develop and uphold product showcases.
• Carry out store upkeep duties like trash disposal, surface dusting, floor cleaning, and restroom and receiving area sanitation.
• Support in setting up displays on the sidewalk.

Knowledge and Skills

• Proficient in interpersonal communication and verbal expression.
• Understanding safety policies and protocols.
• Adeptness in interpreting and adhering to planograms and instructions for merchandise presentation.
• Knowledge of primary cash management procedures and numerical aptitude.
• Proficient in the operation of a cash register.
• Capability to store goods effectively.

Work Experience and Education

• Favor applicants who possess a high school diploma or an equivalent credential.

Working Conditions

• Repeated walking and standing.
• Frequent requirement to bend, crouch, and kneel while overseeing the checkout station, replenishing stock, and receiving goods.
• Capacity to manage rolltainers for stocking by either pushing or pulling them.
• Regular engagement with merchandise and tools such as handheld scanners, price guns, box cutters, merchandise containers, two-wheeled dollies, U-boats (six-wheel carts), and rolltainers is required for daily tasks.
• Regularly lifting objects that are 40 pounds or less in weight; sometimes lifting items up to 55 pounds.
• Climbing occasionally on a step ladder to reach a maximum height of six feet.
• Energetic environment with moderate noise intensity.
• Sporadic encounters with outdoor atmospheric elements.
