Job Summary

As a Forklift Operator at Dollar General, you will play a vital role in the efficient operation of our distribution center by safely operating forklift equipment to move, load, and unload merchandise. You’ll help ensure that products reach our stores on time by maintaining smooth warehouse flow and assisting with order fulfillment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklift equipment safely and efficiently to move merchandise within the warehouse.

• Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and storage racks.

• Inspect merchandise for damages and verify accuracy against shipment paperwork.

• Assist in organizing and palletizing products to prepare for shipment.

• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.

• Support warehouse team members with other duties as needed, including inventory counts and order picking.

• Report equipment issues or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.

Qualifications

• Prior forklift operating experience preferred but not required; training provided.

• Ability to safely operate powered industrial trucks (forklifts).

• Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.

• Ability to lift up to 65 pounds regularly and perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, and walking for extended periods.

• Basic communication skills to interact effectively with team members and supervisors.

• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, or overtime as needed.
