Job Details

In this role, the Merchandising Associate is the key individual who communicates with customers, helps them with their purchases, manages transactions, replenishes stock, tidies up the store, and undertakes any other duties delegated by the Store Manager to ensure the store's profitability and ensure customer happiness while safeguarding the company's assets.

Duties and Essential Job Functions

• Deliver exceptional customer care through friendly greetings and helpful guidance.
• Utilize the cash register and scanning equipment to categorize transactions, gather funds, return correct change, and pack items into bags.
• Offer support to clients regarding items when required.
• Organize and replenish stock on shelves while adhering to company standards.
• Construct and manage product exhibits.
• Maintain the store's cleanliness by carrying out duties such as clearing trash, dusting surfaces, sweeping floors, and sanitizing restrooms and receiving zones.
• Aid in organizing street-side showcases.

Knowledge and Skills

• Proficiency in interpersonal interactions and speaking effectively.
• Familiarity with safety guidelines and protocols.
• Capability to comprehend and implement planograms and guides for the arrangement of products.
• Proficiency in basic procedures for handling cash and numerical abilities.
• Skill in effectively handling transactions on a cash register.
• Capacity to manage merchandise storage proficiently.

Work Experience and Education

• Candidates with a high school diploma or comparable qualification are favored.

Working Conditions

• Walking and standing often.
• Consistent need to bend, stoop, and kneel while managing the checkout counter, restocking goods, and unloading shipments.
• Proficiency in handling rolltainers to stock shelves by either pushing or pulling them.
• Consistent manipulation of goods and tools such as handheld scanners, pricing devices, cutting tools, product bins, two-wheeled dollies, U-boats, and rolltainers is common.
• Repeatedly lifting loads of up to 40 pounds; at times lifting objects that weigh up to 55 pounds.
• Infrequent utilization of a step ladder to reach elevated areas not exceeding six feet.
• Quick-moving atmosphere accompanied by modest noise levels.
• Periodic interaction with the weather outdoors.
